Steve Jobs on the benefits of hiring top talent.
@elonmusk @JonErlichman A player dnt want to work with B and C players. It’s utterly ridiculous
@elonmusk @JonErlichman He wouldn’t be big on DEI if he were around today would he?
@elonmusk @JonErlichman But take care of the A players so they don’t leave and become a competitor
@elonmusk @JonErlichman Through my 12 applications to Tesla's video production teams, it's become clear to me I'm seen as a B/C/D/E player, and it's given me a mirror to look into and force myself to work harder.
@elonmusk @JonErlichman You should hire @AdrianDittmann to work for you here on X. He would be a great spokesperson, and he provides fantastic Spaces filled with amazing creators from all walks of life. He's genuinely a unifier on the app.
Given the fact that everyone has a Unique talent or their own Signature trait that no one else can do… Hiring for excellence should be a norm. Not sure how DEI became a norm… considering… excellence is unique to your skill level- whether it is Healthcare, Manufacturing, Aviation or Reception or warm hearted-observant Walmart greeters 🤔
@elonmusk @JonErlichman Absolutely. The opposite is true. If you hire B and C players you get more B & C players.
@elonmusk @JonErlichman Very true! If you're super lucky, you will have A players who are willing to teach B players and raise them up as well.
