I have loved Sports Illustrated my entire reading life. (Okay, SI Kids at first, but still.) To work here for even a day was an unbelievable honor. I’m not sure what the future holds—still have some stories in the works!—but I know how grateful I am to have been here at all.
The last few years have (obviously) been tough. But I tried alongside some truly amazing coworkers to uphold the legacy + values of SI in any way that we could. I can’t believe how lucky I was to say I was a Sports Illustrated staff writer, period, let alone for nearly six years!
@emmabaccellieri All I know, Emma, is that you will land on your feet. You have been one of my favorite follows over the years here and your coverage of baseball has been one of the reasons I got back into watching the sport. SI is lucky to have you and I hope something gets worked out soon.
@emmabaccellieri Good luck Emma!…my late father (died last September, age 98) was one the original (first year) subscribers to SI, he would not have liked to see this week, but he, even age 98, looked for the good side of change, and you will do well your new endeavor!
@emmabaccellieri I remember the cards from SI kids, gem mint 10 tiger woods card sold for like $20k at auction
@emmabaccellieri Your stories rock and I can’t wait to see where you land next
@emmabaccellieri Thank you for doing a story on us and making such a great moment for me I'll never forget!
