Building Essential Soccer - Day 2 I put a lot of effort in to player intelligence. Players are positionally, tactically and situationally aware as the game evolves. Spot the pass, pressure the GK, clearance, intercept, shoot!

@hirohasusan Agreed. I’m doing it because it’s the game I wanted that didn’t exist. If it sells then great. If not, I’ll just keep improving the game for my own use. I love it.

@SensibleSWOS Cool! I did similar with my SWOS inspired game for the modern era. Runs in a browser but best with a gamepad. Let me know what you think. What else does it need? Demo here essentialsoccer.app

@SensibleSWOS thanks, will try this. Always find the mobile controls awkward on such a small screen but this would be cool on the new iPhone Duo. 🤔 Meantime, I am developing my SWOS inspired game for the modern era with positional play, offsides and more. Link to the demo in bio

I wanted a game that plays football that is technically correct but is still accessible for beginners. I followed England's DNA blueprint and you can feel it in the play. One example was engineering the 'up, back and through' move. Took some time but it was worth it.
