ngl wdy fans are only wdy fans because they're obsessed with the version of wdy they've created in their head (headcanons, AUs, retakes etc). almost never the source material itself. this is why the fandom is still alive and thriving to this day

It's a moral and intellectual imperative that people engage with art that is even remotely intellectually stimulating. Doing nothing but doing the fun/easy stuff only further erodes you and society at large. There is a place for junk food--but not for every meal.
