Legal immigrants drive a lot of the innovation in the US, demonstrate higher levels of patriotism than non-immigrants, and commit less crime than those who were born in the US. This finding is particularly interesting.
@eyeslasho I mean I am pro-America, but I am ashamed of the degeneracy running wild throughout our country, so that would make me fall in the category on the right based on the question posed?
@eyeslasho Not really. People who work really hard to earn their citizenship appreciate it more.
@eyeslasho They have skin in the game. They sacrificed to be here. Their citizenship isn’t a flea market item
@eyeslasho Native here... I just want better food quality and roundabouts.
@eyeslasho THUS, if ALL immigrants combined commit crimes and produce value at a rate equal to non-immigrants, then illegal immigrants must be higher crime lower value.
@eyeslasho I assume 'citizen immigrants' excludes those who are here legally but have not yet obtained citizenship? If this is true, it would be interesting to split out the noncitizen immigrants by legal vs illegal status.
@eyeslasho One of the more pro-American, flag waving, ultra-patriotic staff members I’ve had was an Italian immigrant. He loves America and has no shame in that at all. I made sure to shake his hand the day he got his citizenship.
@eyeslasho It is sad that people are reared to be ashamed of themselves. No healthy society does that to its native sons. Such madness is unlikely to exist without outside influence.
@eyeslasho I suspect that it' primarily due to making the conscious choice to immigrate and effort to obtain American citizenship, with secondary being the push in academia to emphasize the negatives of American history.
