AI shift isn't quite what pundits think. At least not yet. API and language expertise is significantly devalued while architecture, communication, tech direction, and debugging expertise are as valuable as now if not more.

You already know the answer. The number of people who don’t know about/don’t care about hardware has grown much faster than clock speeds and mem. We don’t need better hardware as much as we need people who know how to better use the hardware they already have. I totally blame PC

User's time is critical, this is what you never want to waste. Devs must ensure their software performs well and reliably. I did the maths, if you lose customers your business fails.If you have a ton of mediocre Devs, time to save cost and have fewer higher quality ones.
