@OrwellNGoode it depends on how you’re defining science. if you’re defining it as the laws of the universe, regardless of what we have and haven’t discovered, neil is correct. however, most ppl define science as what we DO know, and what we do know changes constantly, making neil’s point wrong
@fairy_of_organs @OrwellNGoode That's not science, that's what it is called "reality" that it is there, no matter if you realize it or not. Science is a human construct to understand that reality. And science is true until someone demonstrates the opposite, with science
@fairy_of_organs @OrwellNGoode Science is the study of the world, not the outcome of this study (what we know)
@OrwellNGoode cause i mean, we thought the sun revolved around us for a long time, and that was science to us. now we know better. so
@fairy_of_organs @OrwellNGoode He's also Neil deGrasse Tyson, making him wrong.
@fairy_of_organs @OrwellNGoode "If we replace the definition of science with the definition of God, then Neil is correct" isn't really making a solid point
@fairy_of_organs @OrwellNGoode As other people have said science is just a process that humans have created. In fact the most common definition is "The attempt to understand the natural universe"
@fairy_of_organs @OrwellNGoode “Science” has a capital “S” in his tweet. That’s a religious deity, not a field or something
