Under the NERC Investment in Electricity Networks Regulation 2015, communities can indeed enter into agreements with electricity distribution companies to enhance the reliability and efficiency of electricity networks. These agreements typically outline the investments to be made and the reimbursement terms. It's crucial to have a prior agreement in place before making any investments to ensure clarity and protection for all parties involved.

@fccpcnigeria Summary: Communities can make agreements with electricity distribution companies under NERC Regulation 2015 for network improvements, clarifying investments and terms.
@fccpcnigeria Which agreement.. here in my community #anagada since I moved here in November 2021, we have contributed more than 40k each individual at different occasions to purchase or replace on item(poles, cable, fuse, feederpillar etc) or the other.. and we still pay estimated bill🙄😒
@fccpcnigeria Most recently, one of the transformers parked in July 2023. My zone got connected to a nearby transformer after raising a whopping sum of over 900k in December and January.. the other zones raised over 1million to get new transformer this month... July 2023 to March 2024🙄😒
@fccpcnigeria @aedcelectricity are bullies... on different platforms I had called them out to investigate the activities of their personnels in #anagada fct they ignored.... infact, at one point they threatened to cut us off the grid if our "incessant protest" won't stop.. come and verify
@fccpcnigeria This is okay but extremely fragmented and bureaucratic - a street has to form an association before approaching a DISCO. NERC can mandate a standardized agreement that each state will sign covering all transformers within its location....Extremely bureaucratic
@fccpcnigeria Its been hell for us here in #Tamburawa kano for the last five years because we could not get anybody to buy transformer for the community.@kedcoplc @TCN_NIGERIA
@fccpcnigeria In reality, this isn't how it works. For instance, we're supposed to be metered by discos but we end up buying our meters when we can't withstand the outrageous estimated billing even when there's no light. Aren't we supposed to get free energy tokens for our investment?
@fccpcnigeria @glovoapp_ng kindly refund my money
@fccpcnigeria You are not even proud of your self, you're still turning around one hole🕳️, which kind of agreement is that. okay tell me after agreement the distribution company will return community money, don't lie to us We supposed to be given meter, transformers, cable, our own to pay for
@fccpcnigeria This is a blatant lie sir because the discos are compelling customers to buy electricity assets indirectly and Nerc is saying the contrary. It's falsehood please.
