The FCCPC acknowledges that the rising cost of essential goods impacts consumers' well-being and economic stability. While we recognise that the Commission cannot directly control prices, we are committed to safeguarding consumers' interests and ensuring fair market practices, necessitating fair pricing. Arbitrary price increases stemming from untoward practices like price gouging and conspiracy to manipulate supply violate existing laws. The Commission will not hesitate to invoke Section 17(s) of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018 against any perpetrator of such acts. This section prohibits obnoxious trade practices and unscrupulous exploitation of consumers. We encourage consumers to remain vigilant and report unfair trade practices to the FCCPC. Consumers can provide details, including the conduct, location of perpetrators, and other relevant information for investigation through [email protected]. The FCCPC remains committed to promoting fair competition, protecting consumers, and fostering a regulated marketplace. We appreciate citizens' vigilance and encourage active participation in reporting any violations. Together, we can create an environment where consumers are safeguarded and businesses operate ethically within the provisions of existing laws.

@fccpcnigeria You need to do a lot more because Nigerians aren't feeling your presence. Where were you two years ago when airlines at once came up with a flat rate of 50k for local flights. Go after the cement companies too.
@fccpcnigeria @fccpcnigeria I strongly support your awareness lately. In saner countries like Egypt where I lived, there are people sent to thr markets to know thr price of vegetables. Vegetables in point A are sold same price in thr coastal part. We need you guys to go into local markets
@fccpcnigeria You're not doing your job. It's as simple as that
@fccpcnigeria All this English no actions, in fact...90% of Nigerians hardly know about your existence. Better do your job even without being tagged here cuz we ain't hired to be calling your attention.
@fccpcnigeria How about filling stations that display different price from what they are actually selling? One of such is wheeloil fuel station in Ago Palace Way Okota. 595 is displayed as PMS price but they sell at 630 when you get to the pump.
