Pallet tip before you load:
Inspect the pallet first. Broken or missing deck boards, cracked stringers, and raised nails can puncture cartons and drop the load.
Skip wet or moldy pallets too. South Florida humidity makes this common.

Warehouse stacking tip:
Stack cartons in columns, corners over corners. The box walls carry the weight.
Brick or offset stacks lose compression strength and crush sooner, especially in Florida humidity. Need stability? Add stretch film instead.

Strapping tip:
• Polypropylene (PP) = light to medium loads, bundling cartons
• Polyester (PET) = heavier pallets; holds tension better, a common steel alternative
Match strap to load weight, and use edge protectors so straps don't crush box corners.

Tape tip for Florida docks:
• Hot melt = fast, aggressive grab; great for high-volume carton sealing
• Acrylic = holds up better to heat, sun and humidity over time
Storing sealed cartons in a hot warehouse or trailer? Acrylic is worth a look.

Pallet tip:
Boxes hanging past the pallet edge crush and tear in transit.
Keep the load inside the footprint. Use corner boards on tall stacks. A clean cube ships better than an overhang.

Florida warehouse tip:
High humidity softens corrugated. A dry 32 ECT carton can underperform on a muggy dock.
Keep boxes off the floor, away from open bay doors when you can, and don’t overstack damp cartons.

Protection tip:
• Bubble wrap = cushion the product
• Void fill = stop movement in the box
Void fill alone often isn’t enough for fragile items — wrap first, then fill gaps.

Carton sealing tip:
One center strip isn’t enough on heavier boxes.
Use the H-pattern: center seam + both edges. Quality 2" or 3" tape, firm pressure, clean dry flaps.
Strong seals = fewer split cartons.

Warehouse tip:
Pallet wrap usually fails at the base.
1. Anchor film to the pallet (2–3 turns)
2. Spiral up ~50% overlap
3. Lock the top
4. Finish at the base
If the top shifts when you tug, add wraps.

Packaging tip that saves money:
An oversized box isn’t safer — product rattles, and carriers often bill by dimensional weight (size, not just lbs).
Use the smallest carton that still leaves cushioning room. Immobilize. Seal.
