On November 14, 2024, Cloudflare experienced a Cloudflare Logs outage. About 55% of the logs we normally send to customers were not sent and were lost. Here's what happened and what we’re doing to prevent recurrences: cfl.re/49aXaAj
What tools do I use every day to manage Linux servers? (we have hundreds of them in our projects)

Free OpenSource Alternatives to Amazon AWS, Heroku, and Airtable
⇨ ubicloud – a personal cloud, similar to Amazon AWS. You can add your own server resources under ubicloud’s management and use the interface to create fast virtual machines (with seamless migration between hosts and snapshots), load balancers, managed PostgreSQL, virtual networks, access management systems, and more. Highly recommend checking it out. It looks user-friendly and robust, making it an excellent fit for companies with multiple projects or large internal IT infrastructures.
⇨ supabase – a higher-level tool akin to Firebase. Instead of working with hardware, you manage users, tables, storage, and admin-friendly interfaces. It’s a great option if you have a major product or project. That said, nothing stops you from combining tools—for example, deploying supabase on infrastructure managed by ubicloud for individual projects.
⇨ coolify – a Heroku alternative. It manages projects, servers, and a host of auxiliary features like Push To Deploy and more. This is likely a better fit for web studios, freelancers, and other smaller-scale production environments.
⇨ piku – a simpler, more minimalist alternative to Coolify/Heroku for Push To Deploy functionality.
⇨ directus – an automatic CMS, admin panel, and business process builder, somewhat like Airtable. If you already have a database, Directus can save time by eliminating the need to develop additional internal tools for your team.
⇨ nocodb – a direct Airtable alternative. It transforms any database into user-friendly tables, task trackers, admin panels, and more.
React Native: New Architecture
In case you missed it, React Native released version 0.76 with a new architecture that eliminates the bottleneck caused by the Async Bridge.
Before:
React Renderer → Async Bridge → Native Renderer
Now:
React Renderer → Native Renderer
Previously, JS code running on the phone would send requests via an API to the native Async Bridge, which in turn made native calls to the Native Renderer. This created a bottleneck when handling a large number of events, earning React Native a reputation for being “slow.”
With the new architecture, the JS code now generates a native C++ module that directly interacts with the Native Renderer. Additionally, synchronous access to native modules is now possible.
I highly recommend exploring this update and considering it when choosing a mobile development stack.
