In UI, tests are usually _more difficult_ to construct than the UI code in the first place. You would probably need _greater_ training and experience to write a good UI testing suite than you would to make the UI library in the first place.

I can't even really imagine that scenario in my head. If someone cannot program a drag-and-drop widget, how are they going to write some kind of a test suite that can nonetheless validate a drag-and-drop widget?? It is not like "generate all primes" or something similar.

Regarding the conversation on "unit tests" spawned from the SurveyMonkey widget video: it is absolutely astounding to me that anyone thinks a programmer who couldn't write that widget could, however, write a test that would have somehow helped.
