What if parenthood ISN’T a full-time job, it’s a full-time RELATIONSHIP? What if every parenthood-related task was simply an opportunity to strengthen the relationship?
Parenthood isn’t a full-time job, it’s a full time RELATIONSHIP. If the tasks you’re doing aren’t contributing to the (long term) relationship, why are you doing them?
“Mom guilt” is the patriarchy’s way of stifling women’s impact on society and the world.
Stay-at-Home-Moms need work/life boundaries, too.
Parenting is not grounds for manipulation.
Serving your family breeds love. Slaving for your family breeds resentment.
Motherhood is a relationship, not a hobby.
Motherhood is a relationship. Housework is a job.
Next time you're feeling "mom guilt," ask yourself the following question: "Is what is making me feel guilty negatively affecting my relationship with my child?" If the answer is no, DISMISS THE GUILT. There's a good chance it has nothing to do with being a mom anyway 🤷🏻♀️
If you only take one thing away from this account I hope it is this: MOTHERHOOD IS A RELATIONSHIP NOT A TO DO LIST.
Did you really have a “hard day”? Or did you have a hard *five minutes* that you chose to focus on the entire day?
Three things I actively try to *never* apologize for: 1. How I look 2. How my children look 3. How my house looks
When I’m having a hard time *liking* my kids I ask myself the following questions: Did I get enough sleep last night? Did THEY get enough sleep last night? Let’s not confuse the lack of a VITAL human necessity with an assumption that our kids just aren’t fun to be around 👏🏻
Don't be so full of yourself as to think your kids don't need a break from you just as much as you need a break from them.
