Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Lynette Woodard, Sheryl Swoopes, Andraya Carter... All this talk from current and former players about inspiring and empowering women's basketball only to shit on the brightest young star every chance they get. The commentary that surrounds women's basketball is so insufferable that it ends up diminishing the actual on-court product, which has been so damn enjoyable. Really sucks.

@RobDFB No women’s college player EVER has brought more attention to the women’s game than Caitlin. They need to embrace this and build upon it.
@garyjaypeter @RobDFB This is false. YOU just started watching women's basketball. Caitlin isn't the reason for the attention, NBA players attending the games, the sport becoming culturally relevant & competition is what has brought attention to the sport, Caitlin is a SMALL piece to that puzzle.
@garyjaypeter @RobDFB I disagree! Chamique Holdsclaw being on the cover of slam magazine in the late nineties with headlines of could she be drafted to the Knicks. Diana Taurasi in the early 2000s and so many other amazing women who built the game that is finally receiving the attention deserved
