This is why Argentina has one of the best fanbases in football. What a welcome.🇦🇷🩵

Lionel Scaloni on losing the FIFA World Cup final to Spain. 🗣️ “I’ve lost matches before, but nothing prepared me for this. The moment the final whistle blew, I looked at my players, I looked at my staff, then I looked at Leo… and I couldn’t hold back my tears. I broke down because I knew how much every single one of us had sacrificed to be here.” “When I saw Messi standing there in silence, it shattered me. At 39 years old he gave everything he had left for Argentina. Every sprint hurt, every touch carried responsibility, every minute was played with his heart. As his coach, watching him walk away without lifting the trophy is one of the most painful moments of my life.” “I walked into the dressing room and there wasn’t a single voice. Only tears. Men who fought for their country until they had nothing left were sitting there with their heads down. Leo apologized to us… apologized. Imagine that. The greatest player in history apologizing after giving us absolutely everything. That broke me even more.” “I told him, ‘No, Captain. Don’t you ever apologize. We followed you because you never stopped believing. You carried this shirt with pride until the very last second. If anyone should be thanking someone tonight, it’s Argentina thanking you.’” “This defeat will stay with me forever. Not because we lost a final, but because I witnessed one of the greatest footballers to ever live leave the biggest stage with tears in his eyes after giving his country everything he had. Some defeats hurt far deeper than the scoreboard.” “The trophy belongs to Spain tonight, and they deserve congratulations. But no result can erase what Lionel Messi means to Argentina. He didn’t fail us. He gave us a lifetime of memories, another unforgettable World Cup and one final lesson in courage. I’ll forever be proud that I had the privilege of coaching the greatest player football has ever seen.”

Rodri is a fantastic and classy player. But there is no universe where he should have been given the Golden Ball over Messi. A truly bewildering decision. @FIFAcom

Jürgen Klopp on Lionel Messi losing his second FIFA World Cup Final. 🗣️ “Please don’t reduce Lionel Messi’s legacy to one statistic. Football can be incredibly cruel. People will see ‘two World Cup final defeats’ and forget the years of sacrifice, the impossible performances and the joy he has given to millions around the world.” “I look at Messi today and I don’t see a loser I see a footballer who had the courage to carry the hopes of an entire nation over and over again. Very few players even reach one World Cup final. To reach three is something almost beyond imagination.” “You can see the pain in his eyes because nobody wanted this trophy more. That’s what breaks your heart. The greatest players don’t hide from pressure they embrace it, and sometimes football still doesn’t reward them. That’s the beauty and the cruelty of this sport.” “When Messi walks off that pitch, people should stand and applaud, not count the finals he didn’t win. One match will never define a career that changed football forever. Trophies matter, but the memories, the magic and the inspiration he gave to generations will outlive every statistic. That’s the real legacy of Lionel Messi.”

FIFA is a joke. They handed the Golden Ball to Rodri over Messi.😂

🚨Cafu on Rodri winning the Golden ball over Lionel Messi at the World Cup. 🗣️“There have been many times at this World Cup that a lot fans and pundits talk about how controversial the World Cup games for Argentina is in their favor but this decision from FIFA is way off the charts.” “Lionel Messi deserves every bit of respect and recognition for this World Cup, he was outstanding in every single game for Argentina, and if winning the World Cup trophy gets you the golden ball award then they should just retire the Sport. No need to for great players to waste their efforts and later get nothing out of it.” “That’s the worst decision I’ve seen in a World Cup final, Rodri is an exceptional player with great talent but looking at the stats at this World Cup between him Lionel Messi there’s no comparison at all, the stats don’t lie and the performance as well don’t lie too - so why would this be different from performances.”
