one of the most interesting things i saw happen when my wife got pregnant and became a mother was how much of the world just stopped mattering to her she used to be interested in current events and world news, but then she became a mother and just... stopped caring. she still knows what's happening and we talk about it, but it doesn't bother her anymore. about 90% of the mundane problems, politics, social issues and internet drama that used to occupy her mental space are just gone at the same time, her views became much more conservative and detached from politics in general pregnancy and motherhood seem to completely reorder the hierarchy of what matters

hating children and babies doesn’t make you edgy or cool it just kinda makes you a weird as fuck asshole. dehumanizing the most vulnerable population on earth and thinking they should be excluded from society is not the quirky take you think it is

Nowadays it’s shockingly normal to plan to avoid a natural birth, refuse to breastfeed, and impose strict schedules on a newborn because "they need to learn". People don't really want a child, they want a Reborn doll

Being disliked by toxic people is the #1 sign you’re winning in life.

Children are the best thing in the world

@vonderleyen Isn't Monday a public holiday in Spain (Day of the Balearic Islands)? Better wait until Tuesday to not disturb mandatory rest day

If your definition of equality requires mothers and fathers to be interchangeable, I have news for you: your equality comes at the price of child harm. Babies don’t need a plastic nipple and industrial formula loaded with corn syrup, emulsifiers, stabilizers and preservatives so adults can congratulate themselves on "fairness." They need their mothers in ways they do not need their fathers. Only mothers produce living, adaptive, organic food, perfectly calibrated for THAT baby, male or female; adjusted when the child is sick; responsive to stress; changing across the day; with hindmilk that develops the brain and body in ways no factory can reproduce. That nourishment comes from her body alone, never his. And this isn’t a slight against fathers. Fathers do essential things mothers cannot do. Real equality does not mean sameness. It means honoring difference without forcing children to pay the cost. So stop measuring everything through a child-oppressive lens of adult gender equality. Children are not obstacles in your ideological experiment.

buying a baby because you don’t want to ruin your ozempic body and posing on the internet like you were the one who gave birth to it is some serious handmaid’s tale type shit

Marriage with babies and toddlers is less butterflies and fun dates and more “thank you for still loving me even when I’m overstimulated and acting like an insane person.”

Ipocriti.
