I keep wanting to teach people things I learn on this app. But the algo wants me to write stuff that gets people arguing. It’s annoying.
(Someone please respond “no it doesn’t!” And someone respond to that “yes it does” so the algo doesn’t bury this post thanks!) ;-)
@girdley Give me a write up on how education content versus arguing content breaks out in customer acquisition and profitability for the brand. Like is more exposure worth it?
@girdley Best lesson I ever learned about this was from @borrowed_ideas The more you’re loyal to your natural curiosity the more people will resonate with that and find you. Resist the siren call of the algorithm
@girdley It’s increasingly frustrating. My actual valuable stuff does better as comments on other people’s pages than as a post on my own
@girdley As Mr. Beast has said, replace “algo” with “audience” The algo responds favorably to what the audience responds to. Controversy and polarizing posts will almost always attract more attention and engagement than anything else. It’s rhe mainstream media’s playbook for a reason.
