Who uses algebra in their daily lives or careers? I need to convince my 8th grader that what he is learning has a real-world application. The fact that I can't remember how to do anything beyond basic algebra is not helping.

Told my son I wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail and he told me 1. I would be kidnapped and 2. I was too old. Then later he texted me a video about a cult that preys on Appalachian Trail hikers. Kids are great for your self-confidence.
