This kind of issue needs to be addressed by a new law, but we are incapable of writing new laws to address new situations, so we rely on court rulings. The standard has been that algorithms can’t be copyrighted, but code can. It hasn’t been practical to clone an app based on examination and writing new code on a large scale, now it is.

@mcuban The government should provide reimbursement for expenses exceeding some (relatively high) threshold and hsa/deductibility for other expenses. Routine care should be out of pocket.

@iyoushetwt AppleSoft basic. There wasn’t really an editor, you just had to replace any lines you wanted to change.

@dhh @ryanrhughes That’s sounds great. I installed on my 2015 mbp, but the gpu glitches made things difficult. It would be great if that is fixed.

@SiliconConley I think a debate would be interesting, but the problem with a debate is likely that the potential opponent hasn't developed their position and don't care enough to defend it.

@SiliconConley Yes, this is the area that needs the most development. I think just asking the question will bring about good results. As we have seen the default otherwise will be to use techniques from secular marketing.
