Why not 200bp? A 50bp hike is still smaller than what the Fed used to do before Greenspan's final years. If it is the right thing to do (which the 2-year says it is), then do the right thing now. Hiking cycles end when the FF rate meets the 2-year. Incrementalism delays that.

I just now learned of the passing of Richard Mogey, who for many years was executive director of the Foundation For The Study of Cycles. He introduced a lot of people to the use of financial market cycles. He developed Covid symptoms 2 weeks ago despite vax, and died Sep. 10.

I just left the ER. We are officially back to getting crushed by COVID-19. Delta Variant is running rampant and it’s MUCH more transmissible than the original virus. 99% of our ICU admits did NOT receive a vaccine. Virtually ALL of them wish they had.
