@deiga Maybe; the thing that will be difficult is trying to match my beers with theirs so I don’t have to throw away very many ratings...
@deiga Probably a few more weeks, unfortunately. I’m in the process of heavily rewriting the site. I’m having to use an outside beer DB.
@beaverbandit Updates will definitely come. I appreciate your confidence! Thank you!
@beaverbandit Unfortunately that would mean losing peoples’ ratings, since the datasets are so different. But at this point it’s that or bye
@beaverbandit It has become unmaintainable, especially just for one person. I feel like it’s either switch to BreweryDB or I kill the site
@beaverbandit Another big problem for me is keeping the list of beers up to date. I initially got it two years ago, and it’s out-of-date
@beaverbandit I started asking for donations on the site, but only got one before it went down
@beaverbandit The data store I use for ratings is expensive in terms of RAM, and RAM is expensive :(
@beaverbandit Even more unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a good way to migrate the ratings between databases. This is a problem.
@beaverbandit Unfortunately, I don’t think maintaining my own beer database is sustainable. I’m going to have to switch to BreweryDB
@beaverbandit I’ve actually provisioned a new server that will let me bring the site back for a while.
@Tweetins4birds None of our data has been lost. If worse comes to worse and I do not bring the site back, I will send everybody their data.
@Tweetins4birds Sorry about this. I’m exploring a different hosting option that may let me bring the site back up. It’s become expensive!
@btgreen I may still be able too, but I don't think that the site will be returning. Sorry, and thank you for your support up until now!
@btgreen Unfortunately, the cost of upkeep has become too much for me. I had hoped to let people download their data before this happened.
Sorry about those few minutes of downtime. We're back!
Just pushed an update to make your recommendations even better. Rate a new beer to refresh them!
@BubblesnBurgers Just deployed an update that should fix this for Internet Explorer. Thanks for pointing it out!
@BubblesnBurgers still wondering what browser you’re using. Labels for those fields show up in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera. Old I.E.?
