I don’t really know how to write this without sounding emotional, because honestly… I am. A few months ago, on February 18th, I was lying in bed and I had this idea: What if anyone could create their own prediction market? I remember I couldn’t sleep that night. And for the next few days I kept thinking about it. I called my brother. We talked about it. Then we just started building. No company behind us. No big funding. No huge team. Just two students at Imperial College London trying to build something we genuinely believed could become big. We worked part-time while studying because we needed money to pay for the project ourselves. Servers, domains, smart contracts, development… everything. There were so many nights where we stayed up working on this thing while probably nobody outside of us even knew it existed. And that’s why seeing real people actually using gopredict.app now feels almost unreal. People are creating prediction markets. People are betting on them. People are posting about us. And somewhere behind a laptop, it’s still just me and my brother looking at each other like… holy shit, people are actually using the thing we dreamed about months ago. We’re at around $500K market cap right now. I know that in crypto that’s basically nothing. Most big traders probably don’t care about us yet. Most of CT has probably never heard the name solana:CVStKr4Y8EEGmCrQCCEweTLGAkwURZzGZ5ozJBpPnu1c. And that’s completely fine. Because I don’t want people to believe in us because of a chart. I want them to believe in us because one day they opened the platform, created a market about literally anything they wanted, earned fees from it and thought: “Wait… this is actually fucking cool” We tried to make the economics as simple and fair as possible. If you create a prediction market, you receive 50% of the fees it generates. The other 50% goes toward buying back and burning $PREDICT. The more people actually use what we built, the stronger the ecosystem becomes. We didn’t launch with a bunch of hidden wallets. We didn’t snipe our own supply. We didn’t run volume bots to make ourselves look bigger than we are. We probably couldn’t afford all that shit anyway 😂 We just launched what we spent months building and hoped people would care. And you did!!!! That means more to us than you probably realize. Every person who posted about PREDICT. Every person who created a market. Every person who placed a bet. Every person who sent the link to a friend. You are helping two students turn something that existed in our heads a few months ago into something real. Our dream is obviously crazy. We want to make prediction markets available to everyone. Not just crypto traders. Not just institutions. Everyone. Maybe one day 1 billion people. I know how ridiculous that sounds when you look at a project sitting around $500K market cap. But every big thing looked small at some point. And maybe we fail. I genuinely don’t know. There are going to be bugs. We’re going to make mistakes. There are probably going to be days where everything feels like it’s going wrong. But one thing I can promise is that we fucking care about this. This isn’t a token we created over a weekend and plan to forget about next month. This is our dream. And I genuinely believe permissionless prediction markets are going to become a huge part of crypto. Maybe traders don’t pay attention to us today. Maybe CT scrolls past $PREDICT today. & That’s okay. We’ll keep building until they can’t ignore us anymore. And if one day PREDICT becomes what my brother and I imagined that night in February, I’ll come back and read this post and remember when we were two students, at ~$500K market cap, asking people to give our little platform a chance. I built gopredict.app with my brother from scratch after months of work, testing, updates, failures, and starting over. Two students, one dream: to build a prediction market app where anyone can create their own prediction market & truly be part of the platform. I believe creating memecoins was the meta of the past. The next big thing will be creating prediction markets. I want to be completely transparent in this open letter. Many of you see solana:CVStKr4Y8EEGmCrQCCEweTLGAkwURZzGZ5ozJBpPnu1c trading at ~$250K and might think what we’ve built is small or insignificant. Maybe today it is. But this is only Day One. And our vision is stronger than ever. Like I said, we built this product over several months with little to no money. We worked part time just to earn enough money to keep building, and spent the rest of our time working on the app. We fair launched the token. We could have tried to buy most of the supply & push the coin to a $10M market cap with 1,000 SOL, creating the appearance of instant success and attracting buyers. But we decided not to. And honestly, we couldn’t afford to do that anyway. 😅 Hundreds of coins are launched every day, many following the same playbook: volume bots, fake activity, hidden supply, insiders owning 80%+, and eventually holders getting rugged. We wanted to do things differently. We launched with the last money we had. No KOLs. No fake volume. No hidden supply. No VCs. Nothing behind us except two brothers, months of work, and one dream: To build a platform that can one day reach a $1B valuation. Maybe that sounds crazy when you look at us today. But almost every big story looked small on Day One. I truly believe what we’ve built deserves a chance.
