Slowly coming together. When I am planning these things I figure " Yeah, a day or two; might have been true 20 years ago when I did this 24/7 nowadays it's more like a week or two😁

Lots of ways to create armatures for hands, my preference is sheet brass. These will get sculpted in green stuff- it's much more resilient and flexible than epoxy or polymer clay which is important at this scale.

Sometimes you alter your concept that requires a bit more length to your armature, aluminum tubing is a simple solution.
