We were all SO excited and honoured to be the very first class to visit @StGregoryHCDSB 's library in a year and a half!! @amusebook shared the book, A Poppy Is to Remember, and lead a discussion about Remembrance Day. We then had a chance to check out some library books 🤩📚

Math with someone today 👏🏼 After leaping on lily pads to warm up our brains, we played skip count to the finish & used a 200 chart to help us skip count forward and backward 🔢 @StGregoryHCDSB

🔴🟠🟡 Today we analyzed artists work who used the pointillism technique. We are learning about warm colours & painted a fall tree using these colours and this special technique 🎨🍁🌳 @StGregoryHCDSB

…and a Fun Friday it was! These Grade 2’s have been working so hard & filled their gem jar 💎 to earn stuffy day! Play-doh creations inspired our sentence writing task for today 🙌🏼😊 @StGregoryHCDSB

2️⃣4️⃣6️⃣8️⃣ Math with someone center today was so much fun! After playing a whole group game to warm up our brains…we loved choosing a skip counting challenge from the choice board & took turns skip counting using the 100 chart. Excellent collaboration Grade 2’s! 👏🏼@StGregoryHCDSB

🔡 During word study today, we continued to work on decoding strategies. We practiced using syllables & the “chunky monkey” 🐒 strategy. Both can help us sound out unfamiliar words when reading & help us with spelling while writing tricky words too 👏🏼 @StGregoryHCDSB
