Finally watched Phantom (2023, Lee Hae-young) after blind-buying the bluray from Korea. Loses a bit of magic once it exits the hotel setting, but still top-notch pulpy fun. Trailer: youtu.be/8E-6lXi8-wk

Apropos of nothing, “The Man Standing Next”, “12:12 The Day”, and “1987: When The Day Comes” are great South Korean movies based on true events (I’ve listed them in historical order). Could also make the case for “Hunt” (between 12:12 and 1987) and Kingmaker (after 1987)

Patriot (Amazon Prime) was criminally overlooked. (Often pitch black) comedy with a Wes Anderson-esque vibe. The 5 and a half minute tracking shot from mid-Season 2 will never be beaten.
