Granworks Workshop @granworks

@EvanAndKatelyn I’m gen-x so it was a common phrase growing up. Common for my own kids, too, since I use it quite a bit 😄

@kludge1977 Ah, I see where you’re coming from. I naturally think of it from a signals perspective, too. Worth saying, though, that Oxfords has a definition for analog that includes “in contrast to digital” like paper maps and watches, so there’s that…

I always assumed that following Naomi Wu @RealSexyCyborg would eventually result in being blocked and not knowing why. Indeed - blocked and no clue at all. Probably following a blocked person or liking a blocked tweet? 🤷‍♂️

@RealSexyCyborg Are those giant coolers evaporative or AC? They resemble the common evaporative/swamp coolers around here, but those would be little better than a fan in the super-high Shenzen humidity?

@TechConnectify This is a packaged heat pump — all the components are in that one package on the roof. Common on older homes around here

@RealSexyCyborg And female Tech YouTubers like iJustine are labeled “People”, not “Tech”

@RealSexyCyborg @JLCPCB @ff3dprinters @CNC_Kitchen Random question, but what is the deciding factor if a video goes “live for all” immediately vs “sponsors only” to start?

@RealSexyCyborg It seems that the US isn't alone in refrigerating eggs, but I can't tell if it's common in China or not. Reading the GB 2749-2015 "Egg Standard" and GB 31621-2014 "Food Safety Standard" suggest that eggs MAY be refrigerated, but it may not be required?

@RealSexyCyborg Interesting… I thought only the US refrigerated eggs. Time for another Google rabbit hole!

@CDisillusion Can you tell what editor they are using there?

@RealSexyCyborg @hacks4pancakes As an official Old Person, I can confirm that a) we do have disposable money for sponsorships and b) you are bang on accurate with the references but c) we don’t like to be reminded that we’re old - the 80s were practically yesterday, dagnabit!

@kludge1977 Anna and the Apocalypse is the only Christmas Musical Zombie movie I know of…

@EvanAndKatelyn Oof, vertigo is no fun! If yours is due to misplaced ear crystals, then I strongly suggest trying the Half Somersault Maneuver. It works almost miraculously for me and is super simple to do. It does only work for BPPV, though

@RealSexyCyborg I would absolutely love a true personal air conditioner and would pay a substantial amount of money for such a thing... but as you said, no such thing currently exists.

@RealSexyCyborg Truly EXCELLENT overview of the limitations! I have personal experience with a Compcooler vest which pumps ice water through tubes across my chest. I used it building a house in 115-120F / 46-49C temps. It does not cool you down, but it does prevent heat stroke!

@RealSexyCyborg Are you going to rebrand them similar to Jimmy DiResta?

@TechConnectify Am a programmer so != is second nature to me, but I still use a code editor and font that visually replace those characters with the ≠ glyph...

@XylaFoxlin “I’m sorry but, you know, ROCKETS!! I’m sure you understand.”

@TechConnectify Yeah, minivans can even haul full 4x8 goods, while very few SUVs can claim the same. A hitch and a trailer is even better for that, though
