EA cutting almost 700 job's is not new. I think we have hit almost 10k layoffs in 'AAA' gaming over the last 12 months, if not more. Looking at the biggest games of last year being Indie titles, it's clear those companies have lost touch, often being lead by non-gamers.

@iamDCinvestor Years later, using #ethereum for ownership and smart contracts and #arweave for data storage, remain the best solutions for building actual utility on blockchain tech. Ethereum still has a long way to go through

6) Many 'web3' games are still hosted centrally, on traditional temporary servers and don't offer any permanence, the same mistake the current 'AAA Gaming' industry is making. This with the NFT games mainly focusing on gambling makes onboarding new users extremely difficult.

5) Blockchain and 'NFT Tech' can support the demand by traditional gamers for permanence and ownership, making the 'Physical Game' concept possible in a digital environment. This can be done with services like #arweave for storage and #Etherum ERC-721 or #BTC for ownership/resell

3) Many 'web3' games are less interesting to gamers because of the dependency on currency (regardless of it being FIAT or Crypto), and would rather just pay once for owning a game (Vintage Game Cartridges, DRM free games on services like GOG). Preferred even for multiplayer games

1) The current state of 'web3 gaming', a thread. The majority of 'web3 gaming' projects are optimized for gamblers, not for gamers. It's clear these projects don't do proper research. The best sold games by numbers in the last years are single player and co-op enabled games.
