The demand that Humane be graded on some kind of curve for trying something new is stupid. We should be scathing to bad products because the market will be scathing to bad products. The bill must be paid.
@growing_daniel I think you gotta try some weird stuff and have an appetite for weird stuff, even subpar stuff, in order to create a culture conducive to the really transgressive/new. True in tech, fashion, movies, architecture
@growing_daniel Yep. Thank you for your service, Humane. But no. This sentiment you have can be applied more broadly to society and the weird places we’re in right now. We need to accept that when something works, it works. And when it doesn’t, it doesn’t. Grading on curves is wrong & dumb
@growing_daniel Participation throphies are for losers. If you can only participate but not git good, maybe play something else where you could actually git good?
@growing_daniel It's been almost 30 years now. Let the Virtual Boy rest in peace.
@growing_daniel Also no one as far as I can tell has yet noted the real inspiration for the "AI pin". All these nerds are fantasizing having the Star Trek insignia on their chest and tapping it and saying "Commander to starboard". startrek.com/news/starfleet…
@growing_daniel What’s new about it? It’s a radio shack pager form factor + a camera from the iphone 4 + skymall laser tech + ChatGPT api. It’s right up there with Juicero and Quibi
@growing_daniel Do not oppose the invisible hand of the market because that would be inHumane.
