Arsenal are out of the Champs Lg, but they cannot allow this bruising 8 days to precipitate a total collapse. Whether they win the PL or not, they must prove they can reach the finish line without running out of gas. It’s important. @TheAthleticFC 🔴⚪️ theathletic.com/5424687/2024/0…
@gunnerblog @TheAthleticFC I fear that the team running out of gas is wholly attributable to the lack of rotation by the manager. We have looked tired for at least the last couple of games, and we were expecting it off the back of the internationals. Where is Partey? Vieira? Sparse use of ESR?
@gunnerblog @TheAthleticFC Excellent piece and excellent point. Regardless of the outcome, have to prove to themselves that they can finish a season strong and then use that as another springboard.
@gunnerblog @TheAthleticFC Seriously this running out of gas narrative is so annoying…I didn’t see villa or Bayern running out of gas or any other sides..I actually think it’s bottle wee are lacking at this business end of season..we are not good at handling the pressure
@gunnerblog @TheAthleticFC Wondering whether lack of rotation is burning the team out. Had a look at the stats re our closing 10 EPL matches: 2019-20 16 pts from last 30 2020-21 20 pts 2021-22 15 pts 2022-23 15 pts 2023-24 7 pts with 6 games to go
@gunnerblog @TheAthleticFC Agreed. Bayern was a next-level challenge to their mentally that (while they didn't win the tie) they were up for. Last year it was the last 10 matches, this year it will be the final 6 that they need to meet head-on and level up to.
@gunnerblog @TheAthleticFC Going to be very anxious until top four is mathematically secured tbh…
@gunnerblog @TheAthleticFC Unfortunately I think we have already run out of gas. It’s reminiscent of the December run where we look like we have run out of ideas.
