Did you see my appeals for my sick little son Iyad? Did you read about his suffering and his urgent need for medical care, tests, and medicines? Did you see my pleas for my three surviving babies who need food and milk, and for my older children who deserve to return to school instead of living with fear and deprivation? Did you hear me begging for a tent to protect my children from the cold, wind, and rain? Did you remember that my husband was injured during the war and cannot work, while I struggle with my own painful spinal condition? These are not stories I tell for sympathy. This is the life my children are living every single day. I am their mother. When my son is sick, my heart breaks. When my babies need food I cannot afford, I feel helpless. When I see my older children deprived of school and a safe home, I wonder how much more a mother is expected to endure. I have appealed so many times. Sometimes I sit with hope, waiting for even one person to respond. But the help we desperately need has not come. And still, I cannot stop asking, because my children's needs do not disappear when the world looks away. PLEASE, BEFORE YOU IGNORE THIS APPEAL, IMAGINE THAT THESE ARE YOUR OWN CHILDREN. Imagine begging strangers to help your sick son. Imagine having no secure shelter for your babies. Imagine watching your family struggle while you have nothing left to give them. If you have read my previous appeals and passed them by, I ask you from the depths of my heart: please, look at my children again. You still have an opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
