I suspect as well, there is so many Chinese that moved out of China to seek opportunities everywhere around the world. I totally understand them, you do what you have to do to survive. But the sad part is where the Chinese goes, it takes over the opportunity of the locals, which is exactly what’s happening in Thailand. Near my factory, there are Chinese shops everywhere, doing machine repair, sell 2nd hand, restaurants, you name it. Never imagine that I would see this happen, but it did, and there is not a damn thing anyone can do about it, since the government loves China’s money so much and police and immigration officers are pretty much all bought off, I know because I see it with my own eyes, giving out cash to immigration officers while they are working in front of everyone, just unbelievable. If I were to report, you bet your ass I will be harassed by the authorities.

It’s not only China, here in Thailand too. I used to see a bright future here, after Thailand welcome China in open arms, all the manufacturing are being sucked dry by Chinese investment. Now a lot of people understand what’s happening, but there is nothing that can be changed because of corruption. Every problem can be solved if you have the money and know who to bribe. It’s sad really, but it’s the reality. God help Thailand.

If it were not for @elonmusk showing what can be done, project like this may take 20 years plus. His companies are setting the benchmark for manufacturing in the USA, I believe this is how US will beat China. Look at the small nuclear reactor that can be transported by cargo plane! How insane is that? And they did it under 2 years from scatch. What a time to be alive!

@BuzzPatterson I am just curious, how will the US military make sure there is no IEDs or bombs waiting for US troops to come and start exploding? I doubt Iran would care about the island if guaranteed US take over.

Hell no, look at the vaccine schedule, baby 2 months old 5 jabs!? WTF is wrong with you people, here in Thailand, my kids get only 2 jabs at once max! In private sector, no one gets this much holidays. Perhaps it’s time for change and ask people that is age above 70 ineligible for office (Trump is excerpted, since he performs like he is 30 years old). This goes to Thailand as well, so many politicians are too old that is currently in power. They won’t let go.

Good luck going up against United States. When they cite “national sovereignty”, I think they mean “China sovereignty”. The entire telecom system is powered almost entirely by Huawei or Zte. I know because I live here, 3BB, true, they all use Chinese routers. They are more interested in protecting the entire infrastructure rather than trying new technologies. I bet there is also a high probability that thai officials and politicians are being spied on using Chinese surveillance cameras (HIK). Chinese authorities ain’t stupid.

It is what’s happening in Thailand right now, everything is so damn cheap because it is imported from the northern border, no checks, no duty, no nothing. It wasn’t always like this, Thailand used to be very prosperous when the economy is closed and import duty is insane (300% for complete imported cars). Now, with Thai government given a pass to Chinese investment, everything is being sucked dried by China. There is basically no more opportunities left especially in manufacturing (only in IT sector, where they just import parts from China and assemble here, sent to to US as made in Thailand). I don’t see any pathway for Thailand to be as same as before, the only option is close the border and huge tariff on Chinese, which is near impossible. I own a small factory here in Thailand, now, I am living week by week, month by month, there is no pathway to ever compete with China. Only God knows how this will end.
