We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence. block.xyz/dessa

Peter Thiel on why you need to focus on longer time horizons: "The bigger problem, in my mind, goes to people's time horizons. If you're the CEO of a public company, you have to make your numbers every quarter, and that tends to be a really big problem. We need to somehow focus on a longer time horizon. This is not just a problem for corporations. It's a problem for individuals, and a problem for our political system, where people just focus on the next election and not really fixing chronic problems that are over 15, 20, 25 years. Most of the real challenges we face in society are of a chronic long-term nature. They're not of this acute temporary nature."

Organic virality thrives when trying a product is frictionless. That’s why free and freemium models have an edge. Paid products can spread through word of mouth, but an upfront paywall makes every referral a harder sell.

The uncomfortable truth about building great product is that it requires deep user empathy, often that comes at the expense of employee empathy. You can’t always optimize both and pretending there’s no trade off usually weakens the product.
