Speaker Mike Johnson elaborates on his FISA flip flop from when he was a rank and file member of the House, explaining that after receiving classified briefings he has a “different perspective.”
“When I was a member of Judiciary I saw the abuses of the FBI, the terrible abuses over and over and over… and then when I became Speaker I went to the SCIF and got the confidential briefing on sort of the other perspective on that to understand the necessity..
No "classified briefing" is justification for authorizing warrantless spying on Americans. Johnson is just as bad as McCarthy, Pelosi, Ryan, and Boehner.
@haleytalbotcnn @SpeakerJohnson there is ZERO reason why the FBI should be spying on AMERICANS without a warrant...ZERO!!!
@haleytalbotcnn Remember where the 4th amendment says - except for national security? Me neither.
@haleytalbotcnn Chipping away at our constitution. If they can argue exceptions for this element of our constitution…and not publicly share the reasoning…they will do the same for any element of the constitution.
@haleytalbotcnn I'm still confused about this versus the Patriot Act but of course there are going to be abuses, that comes with the territory. Does the good out weigh the bad?
@haleytalbotcnn Really ? Since when is getting orders from trump called classified briefings?
@haleytalbotcnn Every time. Never trust a politician @SpeakerJohnson you spineless hack
