As we close out Shakespeare’s 460th birthday (observed), we continue to look to the future of our field. From the exciting work of PhD candidates & ECRs at #NextGenPlen to the generative discussion at panels & roundtables, the future of Shakespeare Studies is bright! #Shax2024
Stopping in @osfashland on way home from #Shax2024 & the hotel has an archive of festival programs dating back to the 60s #poolsidereading
The hardest part about coming home after a @SAAupdates meeting is not being able to share the new ideas I have. People's eyes start glazing over when I start to talk about them... Now, I just give general responses when someone asks me about the trip. 🤷♀️ #Shax2024
Got back from #shax2024 to the very welcome news that I've been promoted to Full Professor. I'm feeling very grateful for my colleagues and students @MaryBaldwinU for their support - this has been a wonderful first two years in the role, and I'm looking forward to what's next!
Home from Portland and #shax2024. Cool city. Great conference. Came away thinking about how @SAAupdates can be more inclusive of teachers and practitioners. And with a Backstreet Boys ear worm, courtesy of @MaloneSociety dance!
NEW BARDATHON REVIEW: I may not have managed to get any sleep between the end of @SAAupdates #shax2024 and my first years' production of The Two Noble Kinsmen, but not letting that stop me! Really sweet production, embracing absurdity and finding kindness: drpeterkirwan.com/2024/04/16/the…
An afternoon of hiking in the astonishing Columbia River Gorge. Waterfalls galore. The perfect end to this @SAAupdates trip. #Shax2024 🇺🇸
We are so glad Borderlands Shakespeare Colectiva co-founders @KathrynVSantos and @KatherineGillen could attend #Shax2024. We had an incredible time being in a community with so many talented scholars, and we feel honored to have won the SAA Shakespeare Publics Award.

Day 3 of #shax2024 @SAAupdates was like a perfect dessert after a scrumptious feast; no longer having strength to maneuvre my way across seminars and panels I listened to a great panel on magic, a seminar on vigilance and a performance of Lucrece.
Not home yet, with the two hour shuttle to Toowoomba still to go, but it’s been relatively plain sailing so far. There is a heavy sigh update to report from news received in transit but that’s for the next post. It was great seeing so many dear friends @SAAupdates #Shax2024
SAA this year was wonderful but bittersweet, too. It might be my last one…. Thank you everyone for such wonderful panels, seminars, and the opportunity to hear from others about working in alt-ac positions #Shax2024
I’ll continue to have #Shax2024 thoughts for a while but on the heels of some of the Yorick and Gloriana skull discussions, I wrote about pronouns and skulls for the recent Boundaries of Violence collection edited by @TheRevengeDoc and Matthew Carter: routledge.com/Boundaries-of-…
On the long road back to aus after #Shax2024 with a kind of bone-deep satisfied tiredness. There’s not enough time or coffee in the world. Thank you to everyone who shared their incredible work! Highlights include the nextgenplen, gathering (F)ANZSA at the beer hall…
9/9 #shax2024 🧵🪡 I found this week exhausting, but it also reinvigorated my scholarly passion (I hope to have more news about this in upcoming months). Thank you to all involved at @SAAupdates who organised, & to everyone who contributed to the collegiate chaos. Til next time!
