Look at this #SlowWorm catching some sun in the compost heap at Parke, back on a sunny Thursday in April 🐍 This one is most likely a male as they are usually more grey in colour. Females are larger, with dark sides and a dark stripe down the back. 📷 Thanks to Ranger Steve

A couple of Herps from Abbey Lenses Wood today. Not rare but lovely to see. The Common Toad (Bufo bufo) and a Slow Worm (Anguis fragilis). It was quite cool so the latter didn’t move away. Both carefully covered up again. #Toads #SlowWorm #Herpetology #BritishReptiles
