Apologizing when someone you care about tells you what you did hurt them. —No defense - “but that’s not what I meant” —No gaslighting - “you’re too sensitive, it’s really not that deep” —No feeling attacked - “You complain a lot, it’s like I can’t do anything right” —No “I’m sorry if…” Just a heartfelt genuine apology, it really doesn’t take anything from you

in a healthy relationship, your partner hears you out if you're upset, and their goal is to avoid upsetting you in the future, not debate whether you should have been upset in the first place, or make you feel as though your emotional experience is very wrong.

Men be like: “She’s crazy.” Sir… she communicated 14 times and you ignored every single one.

it’s a red flag when your partner turns cruel during conflict. disagreements shouldn’t erase kindness. even in chaos, you should still feel care, still feel respect, still feel loved. a partner who stays kind when things are hard isn’t a luxury... it’s essential

This man said “you’re too sensitive.” I told him “No,you’re too comfortable.” He said “comfortable with what?” I said “disrespecting me and expecting me to smile.”

NEVER get mad at your partner for expressing what upsets them... Even if it isn’t deep to you, it may be a serious matter to them. Genuine consideration is key.

Consideration. If you really love someone, you consider them. You think before you speak, and you move with an awareness of how your actions affect their peace. You care about what makes them feel safe, not just what makes you feel good. If you truly love them, you think about how your actions will affect them.
