I thought the #GrinlingGibbons C18th connection with lime #woodworking ancient but today my @britishmuseum mag tells of bast grave goods 4000 years ago. Bast is beaten limetree bark. I knew it was used by native Americans but did not know of this evidence of prehistoric use.
