#RStats community, really? It's been like 5 hours now and no one noticed the big news? 😛 github.com/wch/r-source/c… Thank you @LukeTierney4 @_lionelhenry @jimhester_ (who else?) #pipypipy
.@stefanbache deserves a huge honor thank you for initiating this move back in 2013/2014 when introducing the 'magrittr' %>% operator that then the #rstats community slowly but steadily showed us old farts is indeed helpful, wanted, and here to stay in one way or the other
@henrikbengtsson @LukeTierney4 @_lionelhenry @jimhester_ Sorry. I am a devout functional composition proponent. When it comes to math I think inside-out not side-to-side.
@henrikbengtsson @LukeTierney4 @_lionelhenry @jimhester_ lambdas also work outside pipe (i wasn't 100% sure)
@henrikbengtsson @LukeTierney4 @_lionelhenry @jimhester_ Another reason to use #pipypipy base R 🤪 My greedy 2021 wish list for base R: convenient inline string interpolation like {glue}
@henrikbengtsson @LukeTierney4 @_lionelhenry @jimhester_ base, pipes? is this a drug thing?
@henrikbengtsson @LukeTierney4 @_lionelhenry @jimhester_ head(mtcars %>% filter(cyl==4)) ?? 😁 So what am I missing here 🧐
@henrikbengtsson @LukeTierney4 @_lionelhenry @jimhester_ I wonder if it allows for the '.' placeholder as in maggittr, so one can direct which parameter the data is being piped to.
@henrikbengtsson @LukeTierney4 @_lionelhenry @jimhester_ Now we just need a fancy ligature!
@henrikbengtsson @LukeTierney4 @_lionelhenry @jimhester_ how long before #rstats has more ways to do pipes than it has to do object-oriented programming?
