In case any artists are still wondering if it's worth it to remove your work from Artstation 🤡
@heyjenbartel Many people download images of their favorite artists' work and save them locally. To use as a computer wallpaper or as a screensaver. Most image scraping tools are used by these people. Once uploaded to the internet, it is next to impossible to completely get rid of any image.
@heyjenbartel Ahh, I wondered why my favourite artist had removed his work from ArtStation! This makes sense now.
@heyjenbartel Terminated my accounts earlier today I hope more people do the same
@heyjenbartel Bro I leave social media for a minute and come back to more shi
@heyjenbartel This might be a stupid question but does it mean that even hidden/un published work isn't safe from them? I still have to delete them? Delete account?
@heyjenbartel @SamAburime "This is totally not about stealing but this one artist said they didn't want me to steal from them and when I stole from them they HID their stuff and now it's really hard to steal from them any tips?? 😭"
@heyjenbartel @SamAburime "wow artists act like we're being assholes against them when we don't do anything wrong" "Ok, don't take MY stuff in particular for your database." "holy shit they HID their stuff from me pls give me tips how to scrape THEIR stuff in particular for my database specifically!!!"
@heyjenbartel Wow, I'm truly sorry for their loss. Loss of dignity, that is.
@heyjenbartel It's still saved in the Internet Archives, so... no?
@heyjenbartel @e1n Can they scrape from our personal websites and/or Instagram? I’m not a huge artist but I like posting my work for encouragement and validation and now I’m feeling like I shouldn’t 😭
