Gmeow Ordinals! Excited to announce I'm adopting Quantum Cat 2543 today😺 This cat is very meaningful to me for many reasons. Most days I wake up and think how absurd it is that I get to work with the legends @0xfar @ercwl @udiWertheimer @rot13maxi and @danheld to Make Bitcoin Magical Again 🧙‍♂️🪄 Second, this cat will have many traits that reflect my personal journey. The one you can see today is the OMBody. @OrdinalMaxiBiz was one of the first communities I joined in Ordinals. I remember staying up late watching Fight Club hoping to get into that server. I didn't really know how to properly degen at the time, but @banditsbtc assured me it would be worth it. Fast forward 9 months later, and OMB is my second home in Ordinals. I owe a ton of gratitude to @ZK_shark and @ohareyoufat for building a community that helped find my voice within Ordinals. As soon as I saw this trait from FAR, I knew my cat had to have it. Finally, the outpouring of excitement from the Ordinals community these past 4 days has been nothing short of astounding. Seeing the interest Quantum Cats and BIP Land have brought to Bitcoin itself has been incredible. As we launch into Quest 4, I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from my favorite shows: "Be curious, not judgmental" - Ted Lasso I think this perfectly captures how the Ordinals community has operated thus far, and I hope this mentality only strengthens as we continue to build our presence within Bitcoin 🫡

A glimpse into how #bitcoin mining might look 10-20 years from today: - Quarter is coming to an end, so financial institutions start closing lightning channels to satisfy their auditor's proof-of-reserves requirements - Concerns around some banks'/exchanges' liquidity cause a run. Customers start pulling deposits to other banks/self-custody, bloating the mempool even further - These factors cause a spike in TX fees to ~1,000% of block subsidy - Almost instantly, network hash rate jumps 100%. These days, ZH/s of ASICs sit idle waiting for spikes in TX fees or fleeting low-cost power to switch on. Many more ASICs that are already plugged in automatically overclock to take advantage of improved economics - Block times shorten as the network churns through the mempool - The next day, an unusual heatwave hits the southern half of the US. 25% of the network shuts off to sell power back to the grid (many at many $ ks / MWh). Block times lengthen - In the next few days, the heatwave subsides, elevated network hash rate "clears" the mempool (down to 5 sat/vB txs) while a massive difficulty adjustment deteriorates economics. Marginal ASICs switch off, many more reduce clocks to improve efficiency. - By the following difficulty adjustment (which takes some time), the network returns to (temporary) equilibrium
