A well written crime tale by @NoirScreenlight. Two losers working a mob owned liquor store get bright ideals about how to make money double crossing their bosses. Though of course nothing goes right and that starts the fun. Fast paced and gripping, keeps you flipping pages.

@BGBhorror has done a great job in continuing the story from the classic slasher film, Intruder. Jim has escaped and others are blamed for his crimes from that crazy night. He now has resurfaced as the night intruder, a serial killer who goes after grocery store workers. Fun read

A different kind of work read with this one. Haven't thought about Grizzard in bout 25 years, but in my teens, I read everything he wrote. I saw this in a free bin and had to reread it. A humorous look at a changing world and growing older. Yes, it's corny, but it made me laugh.

Something weird is occurring every year in Donn. This collects the first 4 tales dealing with the years 1952, 1969, 1865, and 1926. The town needs to meet their quota during the harvest, or it comes to town. @EricButler29003 does a great job building the story layer upon layer.

It will gross you out, but it's also a fun read. Trey works at a landfill, which he loves. He even finds his lunch for free in the trash. One day, he discovers he likes the taste of maggots, aka disco rice, starting his fall. Good character development for a gross out book.

Just a ton of fun by @TonyEvansHorror. Starts off with a bang and just keeps you turning pages. Old school satanic cult novella, where the cult is releasing a plague of bugs to bring Satan himself to the world. A lone kid and his father seem to be the only ones who can stop it.

Solid collection of short horror tales by @wblackwell333. Not all were for me, though well written, but most I enjoyed. Fake Friends was a favorite, dealing with friends who don't really try to hard and how that causes a problem. Will try more from Blackwell.

A fun sequel to By His Hand. Parson, now completely paralyzed, only communicating by a machine that he controls with his eyes. His type out reports still talk about the entity that controls him and that all the horrific murders were not by him. Least he can't hurt anyone else...

The 2nd book in the @ScottMcCreaWest mountain man series starring the amnesiac known as Adam. When he finds the Charteris Copper Mine he is welcomed as the long lost son, but he quickly figures out something isn't right. Just a great book plenty of action with a fantastic lead.

Weakest of the three Strangeways novels I've read but still was ok. Basically a holiday camp has a practical joker that is starting to get serious, and they send for the great detective to find the culprit. Just never cared about any of it til Strangeways showed up, 125 pages in.

Latest work read is a bit different. This is a great collection of true tales from a Ranger in the Great Smoky Mts. National Park. Explains his many encounters with the wildlife big and small. Grabbed this at a visitor center in the park, can't go anywhere without buying a book.

A nicely done WW2 POW escape tale. British officers escape a camp by tunneling underneath a wooden vaulting horse they cobbled together. Shows camp life and how they lived on the run. Moved at a good pace and was well written. Want to watch the 1950 film based on it now.

Latest work read was this fun look at low budget horror films from 1956-59 by AIP and other indie groups. Each film has some nice photos and a fairly large write up that imcludes a play by play of the film that is sometimes hard to follow. Also has some nice background info.

Two enjoyable gruesome tales that include extreme violence. Both deal with men pushed past their limits. First tale is a man going after revenge when his catalytic converter is stolen. The second one deals with a wealthy man who sees his family as leeches, only to suffer worse.

A fun spy/revenge storyline. A cryproanalist for the CIA wants revenge for the death of his fiance by terrorists. He blackmails the CIA with top secret info. But when that fails, he is behind enemy lines with no help, and the CIA wants him dead. Though he will get revenge or die.
