I got shortlisted for a postdoc and they gave me all the questions they will ask in advance. That's honestly one of the most inclusive and cool things I've seen in a while. It creates a more level playing field for those who have not interviewed before. A+ I love that 🙂
@malmolina_14 I don’t quite understand how this works, are the interviews very formulaic? If the questions are set in advance, couldn’t they be answered in writing? When I interviewed people (for PhDs) I have only one fixed question, the rest depends on what they tell me or their CV.
@malmolina_14 I do like how some research groups ask candidates to prepare a critique of a paper or a mini proposal in advance. Needs some balance, advance questions also create bias - for meticulous but anxious preparers over quick-on-their-feet extroverts that leave prep for the last minute.
