Yves ‘Adam’ full lyrics

Creative director awkpak via Instagram story “THE IDOL & THE SELF YVES — HYSTERIC Creative Direction As the desire to be loved turns into anxiety, Yves comes face to face with her past self in the mirror, smiling perfectly. Her present self, consumed by anxiety, and her past self, who knew how to be loved. A clash between two selves who long for each other, push each other away, and embrace once again. The harder she tries to become perfect to be loved, the more her true self gradually disappears.”

PAIX PER MIL press release for ‘Hysteric / Adam’ by Yves mhnse.com/news/articleVi… “The title track ‘Hysteric’ explores persistent anxiety through sensual, evocative sounds. Yves’ signature pop vocals take center stage, blending with a dark, alluring deep house groove and repetitive pluck synth bass to create a subtle sense of tension. The ‘Hysteric’ music video will also be released alongside the single. Featuring Yves’ nuanced facial expressions, unpredictable developments, and striking visuals, the video is designed to heighten the emotional depth of the song. The single also includes the b-side track ‘Adam’, which captures the emotional afterimage that remains even after anxiety has passed. In contrast to ‘Hysteric’, which portrays anxiety as it unfolds, ‘Adam’ conveys the lingering feelings left in its wake. Through these two tracks, Yves expresses the anxiety experienced in the present and the emotions that linger afterward, revealing two distinct facets of emotional experience”

Yves reflects on how ‘Ex Machina’ marked a turning point in her inner self and mindset, encouraging her to explore beyond what fans expect from her kpopworld.com/news/self-imag… “When I first released ‘Ex Machina’, I knew it was very different from what people might have expected from me, so there was definitely some uncertainty. But performing it live alongside my other songs made me realize that it has its own place in my work. It also opened up a new direction for me creatively. Many people believe that artists should be able to write their own songs, and I did feel some pressure from that expectation. At the same time, I believe being an artist is also about being able to tell your own story and lead its creative direction. For me, it isn’t simply about having my name in the credits. What matters more is that I am genuinely leading the idea and fully inhabiting it [...] It is a turning point, but not as an artist in terms of concept or character. It's more my inner side, my attitude, that's changed. Just like many other musicians, people usually try to do what they're good at, what people like. This song was very experimental, and it's definitely not something my fans were expecting. But I still had huge satisfaction from it, and that gave me another direction to turn, more as a person than as an artist”

Yves recalls her journey to joining LOONA, revealing that Haseul’s ‘Let Me In’ was her first introduction to the group before she auditioned three times and eventually became a member kpopworld.com/news/self-imag… “So when I was twenty years old, I first moved to Seoul from Busan to become a singer, to become a musician. To go to this private academy that teaches vocal lessons, I had to do a lot of part-time jobs. One day I remember, it was a very heavy, snowy day – snow piling up on your shoulders, almost – and on my algorithm, the song that came out was the third member of LOONA's song, which is Haseul’s ‘Let Me In’. At first, when I heard the song, I didn't know if LOONA was some kind of project; I didn't know the names of the idols; I had no idea. But that was my first contact and impression of it, listening to that song. I auditioned to become a member of LOONA three times. The first time, I couldn't even do it because the members were full, so I couldn't even enter. Then the second time, there was one in Incheon – I went to try, but that didn't work either. So after the second audition, when I failed, my instructor – we bumped into each other in the elevator, and I looked sad. My instructor said, I know that you're gonna make it, so please keep on trying. So I tried for the third time, but I failed again. But then after that, the people at the entertainment company looked back at everyone who didn't make it, and they found me, and they were like, why didn't she make it? And they called me. That's how I became a member of LOONA”

Yves reflects on how her relationship with fans has evolved during Q&A at the fansign with interAsia “Back then, when I looked at the fans, they were always supporting me, thankfully, but there was also some concern mixed in. I could kind of feel that they were looking at me with a bit of worry, like, ‘Will our Sooyoung be able to do well?’. But now, they completely trust me and the things I do. It feels like they have a lot of expectations for them, so I think things have changed in a positive way. Things were always good, but now it feels like they trust me even more. Uh... kind of like a mother? So I’m really grateful, too. When I first started doing fansigns alone, I used to feel so awkward. I was really embarrassed and everything, but now it feels like I’m doing a comedy show with them together. So, when I see the fans here, they’re so cute. Seriously, they’re so cute. Their eyes are sparkling and everything. I love it so much. Somehow, this time feels really precious, and I’m getting older, you know? So, when you get older… I’m serious, really. I’ll be thirty next year. I’m serious! But as you get older, you become more prone to tears, you know. You wouldn’t understand. Sometimes, even ordinary everyday moments suddenly make me feel grateful and sad. So, when I’m doing a fansign, every now and then I think, ‘Ah, right... when will we get to sit across from each other and talk like this again?’. And then I suddenly feel so grateful. So I think getting choked up like that from time to time is something that’s different from how I was at the beginning” x.com/yvesningwithyo…
