I condemn in the strongest possible terms the brutal attack on comedian Osagie Daniel Idedia (aka Porkupyne), in Benin City, Edo State, and I state without equivocation that this was a politically motivated assault on a Nigerian citizen solely because he is my supporter and because he dared to demand good governance and accountability in Edo State. I hold Governor Monday Okpebholo @m_akpakomiza, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC leadership directly responsible for creating and tolerating a climate of impunity in which opposition supporters are beaten, maimed and terrorised. Governor Okpebholo must explain what happened to Porkupyne, stop hiding behind official silence and prove that his government is not shielding political thugs; President Tinubu and the APC must stop the brutalisation of my supporters and end the dictatorial arrogance of treating loyal opposition as enemies of the state. The police must urgently investigate allegations of political involvement, identify the perpetrators and expose whoever sponsored or facilitated this cowardly attack, because no Nigerian should be brutalised for refusing to support Tinubu, the APC or any governor, and no political party has the right to beat, maim or terrorise its way to power. I am formally drawing the attention of @amnesty @amnestyNigeria and all foreign missions in Nigeria to this deeply troubling incident. They must closely monitor the treatment of opposition supporters, independently document politically motivated violence and demand accountability from the relevant authorities as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections. I demand immediate justice for Porkupyne and protection for every Nigerian exercising the right to political choice and peaceful dissent. Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians, not to the APC, not to Tinubu and not to any governor who believes power gives him the right to intimidate citizens into submission. The APC must stop the brutalisation of my supporters now, and Governor Okpebholo and President Tinubu must demonstrate that their administrations will neither tolerate political violence nor shield anyone responsible for it. -AA

I was there. Best hat-trick in Premier League history.. given we were 2 down, the atrocious weather, and the unbelievable skill for that last goal. Also spawned a new chant: Chim Chiminey, Chim Chiminey, Chim Chim Cheroo, who needs Anelka when we’ve got Kanuuuuuuu. @papilokanu

It’s truly unfortunate. All influential Nigerians with a voice must keep speaking up.

Contrary to Joash Amupitan’s declaration; ELECTORAL LAW GIVES CANDIDATES THE RIGHT TO RECORD, MAKE A VIDEO OF FORM EC8A AND HAVE THEIR OWN SITUATION ROOM. “We have eighteen candidates. They are free under the law to have their IReV,….situation room. They are free under the law to publicize, to report what INEC had officially under section twenty-five, because section twenty-five is a creation of an office, a distinction to be made between declaration of a winner and announcement of result. Who now says that result that have been legally, officially announced by the presiding officer, that the party agent that are entitled to have that result cannot send it to their situation room? Who says that?” — Mike Igini schools Joash Amupitan on electoral act.

6 Years Later! We are still dealing with Insecurity, hunger, poverty, lack of proper health care and the highest level of corruption and impunity. The saddest part is that we are even more divided as a people at a time when we should be most united. I hope one day we truly realize the power that we have as citizens and stop allowing a few selfish individuals destroy the success and prosperity of the majority of us. Till then, ✌🏾 and 🤍

6 years ago, Nigerian youth took to the streets to demand an end to police brutality. Some never made it home. Pelumi Onifade was one of them. Others are still missing, and their families are still waiting. Every day, they hope for answers and wake up to silence.💔

This is the pure undiluted truth… Thank you Eric

Politicians align with each other because their interests align. Asking oppressed citizens to fraternize with those supporting the destruction of their lives in the name of politics is not sensible. Part of Nigeria’s crisis is the lack of political consciousness and principles by people like you with significant social influence. Reducing principled opposition to the very people who are responsible for Nigeria’s problems to “politics” is duplicitous. Some of us will not attend a Church whose founder is supporting a criminal regime. Some of us know that countries are not developed with empty promises and wishes. If Nigerians knew how to hold grudges against those destroying the country, things would have improved significantly. @timidakolo, if you are going to support Tinubu/APC, do so with your full chest and stop prevaricating.

Stop making enemies because of politics.

@BrockRiddickIFB 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@timidakolo This is good advice for the actual politicians in the arena.... but not for the long suffering citizens of Nigeria

@Bigdaddyvinz_ Hollywood and their social experiments ... adopted a black African boy and turned him to a girl 😂

@Wizarab10 "In the final days 10 women will hold on to 1 man" ... this is the practical illustration that men are indeed the prize 😁😁

Nigeria’s security agencies are failing in their responsibilities, @PoliceNG @OfficialDSSNG as some politicians continue to publicly threaten violence ahead of 2027 elections, in utter disregard for the rule of law and the nation’s Electoral Act. The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarret Tenebe, was quoted threatening “to invoke the “power of AK-47” against anyone plotting to thwart the party’s plan to deliver 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.” Tenebe made the threat during a campaign rally in Edo state where political violence is already rampant. Clearly, Jarret Tenebe is a danger to democracy and rule of law and must be held to account. Ahead of 2027 elections and beyond, it is essential that the Nigerian authorities ensure that any politician or other leaders, of any political party or grouping, responsible for carrying out or inciting or threatening politically, religiously or ethnically-motivated violence or human rights abuses must be held to account.

@WIZEINTHEBEAT Just saw this and burst into uncontrolled laughter... Lai Mohammed was legendary 🤣🤣🤣

@asemota He has done very well with Cult related killings, but unfortunately we are also back to the days of the community youth violence / land grabbing - a bridge that had previously been crossed

@OneJoblessBoy What is this ideological word salad... in an attempt to connect dots that cannot reasonably be connected, he keeps talking like Aluta babes repeating any slogan to sound relevant 🤡

@mc_lively_ Although this is a popular sentiment expressed by many due to their frustration with the state of Nigeria, it is quite a lazy and flawed argument... participating in a religious event doesn't negate active citizenship #fakedeep

@ThisGospel_Hub High falutin nonsense, the need to sound deep all the time leads to a lot of false teachings
