Love or hate Cole Perfetti I can tell you this there won't be another single player with 19 goals and 38 points in 71 games that's health scratched to start the playoffs in the NHL. Other coaches simple don't bench that kind of production.
re: the benching Perfetti thing, I know people will look at it as the team being too deep, or "playoff hockey" being too tough for him like he isn't harassed and mauled every game already. Just keep in mind he and his agent were told he'd have a significant role this year.
More random end of season stats: Appleton and Ehlers both played 82 games. Appleton played exactly 60 more 5v5 mins than Ehlers.
For all the Boomers that bitch about Ehlers being a glass cannon this is his third season hitting 82 GP, more than Josh, Kyle, Mark, or Adam among similarly tenured players.

Hearing/seeing a lot of comments that the Jets just need to try harder and match COL’s intensity… kind of ignores a lot about the unfavourable deployment and overthinking that the coaches are doing. IMO: this reeks of the 2018-19 Jets, not mirrors the 2017-18 Jets.
The line everyone is bitching about actually has the best CF% despite the worst offensive deployment (zone starts and D pairings) but must be flayed as they haven't put the puck in the net yet. Small playoff sample sizes really show you who's an idiot about hockey.
Anyone focusing on any particular #NHLJets line is kind of missing the forest for the trees... they are all struggling:
