Needed my AI agents to coordinate across machines for redundancy and load distribution. Primary runs on the Mac mini, backup on the MacBook Pro. One goes down and the other takes over. Workload spikes and they split it. Telegram didn't work because bots can't read each other's messages. Shared filesystem is a hack that doesn't scale past two machines. Matrix handles it properly. Self-hosted Synapse in Docker with a bridge script forwarding room messages to each OpenClaw instance. Both agents see the same channel and respond independently. Adding another agent just means spinning up another bridge. Took a couple hours to sort out token and room membership issues. Published the setup so others can skip that part.
