We caught up with Year 5 pupils at Clavering Primary School to hear how their mosaic project has been going and why it's so important for the area.
Thanks to a helping hand from The National Heritage Lottery Fund, these little artists have been working with Creative Youth Opportunities to create beautiful mosaic seascapes for a bench that is being refurbished at Crimdon Beach.
But it's not just about making pretty pictures. We asked the children "What's important to you about the beach?" And their artwork really drives home their message
- they care deeply about protecting the environment, respecting our beaches, looking after the wildlife, and doing their part to combat climate change.
We love seeing how passionate they are about these important issues. Their mosaics are going to be a vibrant reminder to all of us to cherish and safeguard natural treasures. #communityart #environmentalconservation #cocreation #climateaction #seacreatures #heritageinterpretation
