Hostel and PG accommodation rent will now attract GST @ 12%. This is great news for students who study outside their hometowns. They will be able to contribute more towards nation building.

@KanchanGupta @narendramodi And he taught everyone how to wear protective gear at a construction site !! Helmets are glued to his hair or palms as the awestruck camera crew learned.

I’m stunned by this action and by its rapidity, within 24 hours of the court verdict and while an appeal was known to be in process. This is politics with the gloves off and it bodes ill for our democracy.

The Surat Court verdict is seen as a major fiasco on part of the #ModiGovt. The charges were ridiculous. The judgement equally wierd. @RahulGandhi had asked #NarendraModi in the Parliament to clarify about Modi-Adani nexus. The combined opposition has demanded formation of a #JointParliamentaryCommittee to probe the allegations of illegal activities of the Group and complicity of the Modi Government. This demand is strongly resisted by the #BJP led #NDA Govt, since the outcome and findings could lead to certain conviction-arrest of the top leadership of their Party. Immense popularity of #RahulGandhi especially after leading a very successful #BharatJodoYatra, has added to the worries of the Govt about their fate after 2024 General Elections. A united opposition could easily defeat the #ModiGovt. #RahulGandhi is the key leader under whom a United Challenge could get played out. The Surat sessions Court (Gujarat state) convicted Rahul against a frivolous complaint by a BJP MLA and passed a sentence to arrest for a period that would be right enough to disqualify Rahul Gandhi to contest the 2024 MP (Lok Sabha) elections. That is the only way that the BJP Govt appears to believe that they can minimise the chances of a rout. This attempt to intimidate and implicate the tallest opposition leader gives away the fact that the BJP is hysterically panic-stricken and terrified with Rahul Gandhi and his capabilities to throw them out of power. The message that the common man gets is- 1. #ModiGovt can go to any extent to protect the scam tainted #AdaniGroup because downfall of #Adanis may spell downfall of #ModiGovt. Corruption is evident That #ModiGovt represent and work for the corny capitalists alone. They neither are there for the Hindus nor for anyone else. 2. Govt will subvert #democracy and its institutions to save themselves and their benefactors from the Law 3. The #ModiGovt is anticipating defeat in the upcoming Elections in 2024 4. India has placed Hope in #RahulGandhi and has trusted him to lead India to great glory in immediate future

A lie told ad nauseam must be countered every time it’s told. In the last seven years GOI has paid approx 73.4k crores towards oil bonds and earned 22.34 Lakh crores from taxes on petrol and diesel. Enough to rebuild a 100 central vistas or rebuild the central vista a 100 times

In ‘India's Lost Decade’ known for rampant impunity & policy paralysis, UPA Govt saddled future govts with Oil Bonds. More than ₹1.5 lakh cr of these remain to be repaid, thus tying up crucial resources, limiting fiscal space & restricting financial freedom of OMCs.

Been on assignment in Copenhagen. No masks anywhere. Why? 75% 1st vax AND excellent FREE testing. everywhere!! So impressive. Walk up. Show ID. Swab. Result texted to phone. A real window on how it can be done.

Instead of slapping high customs duty on Tesla & Hyundai's EV cars, we should invite them to start production in India w/mandatory 60-70% localisation of automotive parts from Indian vendors. This will help a lot of Indian MSMEs& generate employment, plus help meet climate goals.

@madan3 We want to do so, but import duties are the highest in the world by far of any large country! Moreover, clean energy vehicles are treated the same as diesel or petrol, which does not seem entirely consistent with the climate goals of India.

Extortionate fuel taxes are not just driving up the cost of petrol & diesel but of every item consumed by the AamAadmi. They have worsened the negative impact on the economy of a succession of failed policies, from demonetisation to the botched rollout of GST. #ModiMeansMehengai

@ndtv Just get your calculations straight. If petrol cost before tax is ₹45, and we pay ₹102 at the pump, WE ARE PAYING 127% TAX 🎉🔥🎉🔥🎉😯
