As long as you reflect, apologize and be mindful to better control yourself in the future…then you do not have to feel ashamed. And don’t let anybody try to discredit the good parts of you just because you had a bad moment that you’re remorseful about

Oh I also want to add that even when your negative traits come out and technically you’re in the wrong (like if you overreact to something then apologize for it later) that still doesn’t mean that’s “the real you.” It just makes you human and it’s ok to be human

So yeah, just wanted to share because I know I have people who follow me that have shame wounds and are hypersensitive/empathic. It’s so important to gain a firm sense of identity because there will be people who will confuse your multifaceted nature as hypocrisy

- (usually me calling people out and not tolerating people’s harmful shit), the first thing they run to is “wow so you’re not who you pretend to be on YouTube.” And it bugged tf out of me so I did some digging and discovered that past wound was the root

I didn’t realize I had this wound until I started to grow on YouTube. Because my content on there is very compassionate, some people started doing this thing where they’d put me in a box and label me as an “empath” of sorts. So when I show any “negative traits” -

Because I was so young and had a shakey identity, this would lead to me feeling shame and questioning myself. But also having people project onto you and tell you who you are and who you’re not, can be very painful to a sensitive person

-who really think in black and white like this. Their brain can not comprehend that a compassionate person is still a person and therefore can also express “negative” emotions (I put negative in quotes because I don’t see anger and calling people out on their shit as negative)

-shift blame away from their behavior that I’m calling out and instead claim that the “other” compassionate side of me must’ve been a lie and that this is the “real” me. I’m sure they did this to shift blame away from getting called out but there are also people-

I was journaling and reflecting back on growing up and realized how much this sorta thing affected me. I was always a compassionate, empathetic person by nature. But also a no nonsense person who would call people out on their BS. And their response to that was always-

The moment you get angry or call them out, they’re like “wow so that other compassionate side of you is fake. This is clearly the REAL you.” I can not stress enough how dangerous people like this are. Especially if you are a hypersensitive person or have a shame wound

People who fail to realize that humans are multifaceted so when “negative” traits come out, they call that side of you the “real you” 🚩🚩🚩🚩

@RevolutApp I just lost 1 hour of my life that I will never get back dealing with the worst customer service representative known to man! 🤬 Outsourcing service centres seems like a good & cost effective idea, until you get on an online chat with a DONUT 🍩
