In my 20s I worked the overnight at NPR and wrote intros for Bob Edwards. He had a very specific wry way of delivering a funny line. Masterful. So fun to write, imagining it in his voice and then he'd nail it every time. Raising a bourbon to you today,Bob. npr.org/2024/02/12/165…
@iraglass Bob Edward’s was one of the most biased radio personalities of all time.

@iraglass When he was ousted, I resent listened for months. It was quite a blow for many listeners and made no sense.
@iraglass I was lucky enough to be interviewed by him. I just listened again and I hear myself becoming a better interviewee the longer we speak. It was an honor.
@iraglass I think I remember his every word on 9/11. He was the definitive morning voice of NPR.
@iraglass He was the best. Still miss his comforting and authoritative voice each morning. #bobedwards
@iraglass Bob is up there somewhere wearing his leather jacket and watching Johnny Cash give a performance at Heaven’s 9:30 Club.
@iraglass Bob Edwards was a brilliant interviewer and voice of reason. I regretted the day he retired, yet knew he earned a long, happy retirement. I hope it was happy, even if not long enough. Bob Edwards made me proud to be a fellow Louisvillian.
